Days 22 & 23 I know I broke my promise... So sue me :)

So I know I promised to update the blog last night because I missed the previous night but my wife got some amazing news so we went out as a family to celebrate (Melting Pot dinner and they removed my favorite item from the menu, but that's for another day to talk about). I'm catching up now, so hopefully thats ok with everyone...

I've spent a lot of time working on the inefficiencies in my swing that last two days. I'm struggling to find the areas that are affecting my driver that I don't seem to have with the driver. You all know the metrics I'm trying to hit with the driver and I don't seem to be making much progress. After my practice session this evening with a great friend, who knows a great deal about training for athletic goals, gave me a great piece of advice that I spent some time thinking about. He mentioned that I am changing many areas of my life in pursuit of this goal (practice, fitness, nutrition etc) and it will likely take some time for my body to adjust to the new life style. He also said that because it will take some time, I should not spend so much time worrying about my driver metrics and distance metrics at this time. I think this is sound advice, and for the near future I will focus more on the mechanics and solidness of contact.

The fitness routine is coming along. I'm still tight and sore after sessions, but that seems to be improving as well. I'm continuing daily stretching routines and adding different elements to the strength routine, trying to focus on my core and rotational stability/speed.

Tomorrow I will take the day off from any strenuous practice (my body could use a recover day) but I will still stretch like everyday. So until Monday, KEEP IT IN THE SHORT GRASS!
