This may seem like a small victory, but it has been a very long time since I practiced for 8 consecutive days. In fact its been over 13 years since I've worked this many days in a row. Amazingly enough I have had very little issues with soreness or pain in my back/elbows that have plagued me in the past. I started taking CBD Oil about 3 weeks ago after reading/seeing so many articles about Tour Players using it. This may just be a placebo effect, but my back definitely has not been sore like usual.
Today was a fairly light day of practice due to my lesson schedule and having a meeting for the Gator Bowl committee. I did work on my wedge game again, focusing on distance control and trajectory control. I want to be able to hit my wedges with a relatively flat trajectory, as that seems to be the preferred method by the best wedge players on tour. I also spent some time training my AimPoint routine. I'm lucky to have a Virtual Green from Full Swing Simulator in the store that allows me to dial in 1-4% slopes which I can use to practice feeling the slopes and going through the read process.
I also reached out to a fellow TPI colleague to help me put together a fitness routine based on my current limitations. I'm starting to clear out my storage room at the store and will convert it to a small "gym" dedicated to golf fitness. Its going to take some time to accumulate the equipment and to clear out the stuff I have in there, but I think in the end it will be a valuable piece to helping not only my golf game, but my students that want to take their game to their highest level.
My game plan for tomorrow is to work on shot shaping with my irons and finish my last Super Speed training session for the week. So Until tomorrow, KEEP IT IN THE SHORT GRASS!
