Day 77 Finding motivation...
Its been a while since I last posted, sorry for the long lay off. The week was a busy one in the store (thank god for that, hopefully that continues) and it kept me from getting into the hitting bays often. Overall I'm ok with that at the moment because I am finding motivation to really focus on my strength and flexibility routines. I've been following a few different players on Tour (Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Rose and Lexi Thompson) and drawing from their posts on fitness.
While I have been following Bryson, I don't necessarily want to completely follow his path (I don't know why he wants to be 230 pounds) but I do like how he is hitting the fitness hard during this off season. Now that I will not get to play every Wednesday night, its a great opportunity to work hard on my body and just stay loose with the swing mechanics. Besides I'm in a pretty good spot with the overall swing, so I don't want to fix it if it ain't broke!
I'm going to take the next 2 months (November and December) to really hit the gym hard and see just how much stronger and faster I can get. I will continue to hit balls during this training season, but I will try very hard to not focus on mechanics and just try to work on feel to go with the new strength. I could use some help with the diet portion (definitely cheating on Thanksgiving and Christmas), but I've never been very good at know what and how much to eat during training. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I'll update again soon, so until then... KEEP IT IN THE SHORT GRASS!
