It was a very tough day for me yesterday both with the store and with my game. I'm quickly learning that starting a business will have a lot of ups and downs but learning how to handle the down periods has not been easy for me. Luckily for me, a great friend of mine invited myself and family over last night. Getting the opportunity to talk about the store and game, while having some fun really helped get me out the funk I got in throughout the day. With that said this blog isn't about my store or how its doing, its about my game and how I'm progressing towards trying to qualify for Winged Foot next year.
I worked on some of my iron play yesterday (albeit briefly due to lessons). I was able to start fitting the Mizuno irons and see how they perform. So far I'm having mixed feelings about the clubs. I've only fitted the 5 and 6 irons so far, but the expected results based on the numbers I was getting with the demo 7 iron are a bit off. I'm hoping that was more of an issue of where my head was at yesterday. I'm by no means writing off this experiment yet, but the first day is a bit alarming.
Today I've got some time late in the day to get some work in, so hopefully it goes a little better than yesterday. I've got to find a way to get everything back on track (store, game, mental) so I don't waste too much time not improving. Qualifying is 8 months away and that time will go very quickly, I've got to take advantage of as much of it as possible. So until tonight, KEEP IT IN THE SHORT GRASS!
